"Heroes" - New TV Show

One of the more interesting new TV shows here is called Heroes. It's about a group of people who discover they have various enhanced abilities - we don't know why (altho' a murdered scientist thought there was a genetic reason). So far, the group are in different locations and don't know each other - not sure if they'll get together or not. They're not X-Men (and women) or anything. So far, so good. I'm particularly enjoying the tale of the Japanese office guy, Hiro (Hero - get it....?!)
I think it's doing well in the ratings, so there's a decent chance it may make it to the UK.

I'm loving this show. It's regularly bookmarked on demonoid
It is doing really well Stateside, so well in fact that after only 1 episode being shown, the network decided to double the length of the first season, from 13 to 26 episodes, that's usually a good sign.
It has already been bought by the European Sci Fi channel, though there is no definite date for broadcast...Yet

You've obviously not read Snowcrash... the main character's name Was Hiro Protagonist!

Har har! That's subtle...
It was even more subtle than that, since he was only called Hiro for the first half of the book and was suddenly referred to as Mr. Protagonist in the second half. I didn't click until most of the way through.

Just found this interesting tidbit from E! Entertainment website - looks like there will be a transatlantic visitor to the Heroes cast:
"I heard Christopher Eccleston is joining Heroes. Do you know anything about his character?
Actually, yes! Last week, Masi told us that the onetime Dr. Who is going be a mentor type for Peter. He actually even called him "Peter's Yoda!" I'm assuming Christopher has powers of his own, and, as I mentioned before, I'm fairly certain he is a new Hero and his power is invisibility. Sources tell me the invisible man is the new Hero."
--any sign of this show appearing in the UK? It's not a bad little show.
